While the news of the day leaves much to be desired, there are still many things to enjoy in the Okanagan while ensuring proper self distancing and staying healthy.  Looking after our mental health is important too.

The weather:  The Okanagan Valley has abundant sunshine and spring comes early.  Check the local forecast here and compare it to yours at home.

Hiking:  As the snow line recedes into the hills, the hiking trails become increasingly popular.  Wild flowers, beautiful vistas and fresh air is plentiful.  A local hiking guide is here.

Wine Touring:  Many wineries are offering sales at the door and are ready to showcase their latest vintages.  Food service may be limited to take-away which makes the experience unique and memorable.

Cycling:  The street sweepers in Kelowna are out in full force, ensuring the bicycle lanes are clear of winter debris.  The Mission Creek Greenway is beautiful and fast, and Knox Mountain Trails, lower Crawford and Smith Creek trails are looking good.

Picnicking: While many food service business are restricted to serving take-away only, why not take advantage and enjoy a meal in one of Kelowna’s many parks.  Knox Mountain offers great vistas and ample benches to enjoy a lunch.

Golf:  Self distancing is easily achieved on the links.  Many golf courses are open and are offering great deals on green fees.
